I set out to do an art project that I've never accomplished before. I
carved a print block in such a way that the design fits into itself,
kind of like a puzzle. I drew a hundred dancing ladies, coming up with
just the perfect pose to make this work. Then I traced it onto the block
and carved it. Next came the printing process itself. I needed to print
8 ladies in all, which took 8 hours (an hr. dry time for each). Then,
after the printing was completed, I went back and carefully painted just
a touch of color around in certain places. It was a big project that
stretched and challenged me. The end product was beautiful!! I had
decided not even to "test" the project on plain paper, but pulled out
the good stuff!! Read more...
